David King
David King is a world renowned theatre producer, artist manager, businessman and entrepreneur.
He is the one of the UK's most prolific and successful international theatrical producers with his own theatres in America, and hit shows all over the world.
David is the largest employer of dancers and singers in Europe. David is the executive producer of Spirit Productions with production houses both in the UK and America where he creates his extensive portfolio of hit shows. With over 500 dancers, singers, creative directors and technical crew, David is one of the largest employers in show business today, on both sides of the Atlantic. At any one time more than 20 of David’s show can be appearing around the world, including productions in America, Australia, Monte Carlo, South Africa, Europe, Asia and Canada.
Born in Leeds, in the North of England, as a young boy, David started out life as a classical pianist, and developed his playing and writing skills to such an extent that he now oversees all musical aspects of his many productions.
David didn't always have things easy. His story is really one of "rags to riches". He struggled to make a living, but he would never give up. And then in 1996, his big chance came, as he wrote his first major hit show, "Spirit of the Dance". The show was an instant success, and David went from the unemployment line, to become one of the most successful producers the UK has ever seen. Within two years, Spirit of the Dance became the biggest dance show in the world, with 14 different troupes performing the show in 14 different countries on the same night. The show has been seen by more than 30 million people worldwide and boasts over 13 million pages on google!
